Threw $80 at a cheap injector puller kit and instantly regretted it

I needed to pull some stuck injectors on a 6.0 Powerstroke last week and grabbed a budget puller kit off Amazon for 80 bucks. First one I used, the slide hammer threads stripped out on the second hit. Ended up having to torch and chisel the damn thing off. Now I'm out the money plus a whole afternoon. Anyone got a brand of puller that actually holds up to real use?

yeah the problem is a lot of those cheap kits use chinese steel that's way too soft for the threads. i've seen guys swear by the otc 7639 but its like 300 bucks. honestly for a 6.0 you really gotta heat the injector boss area first with a torch, not the injector itself. that aluminum head expands way different than the steel injector. ive been using a snap-on puller for years but that's stupid expensive too. might be worth looking for a used matco or mac one off facebook marketplace.

Rented the OTC kit from AutoZone for $50 and it worked fine.

yeah i saw a youtube video where a guy tested like 5 different brands of injector pullers on a 6.0 and the cheap ones actually bent the threads on the first pull. he said the otc kit was the only one under $100 that held up, so thats good to know.
