Oh man, I've been there. Best move is to just ask "hey mind if I use my own jack stands?" before you even pop the trunk. Most guys appreciate the heads up. But if they say no, just nod and let them do their thing. Not worth the argument over a tire rotation.

Wait, people actually refuse extra safety gear at a tire shop? That's wild, I've never seen a guy get upset about someone wanting to be careful with their own jack stands.
