Wasted $500 on a fancy website builder for my shop
I dropped $500 on one of those all-in-one website builders thinking it would bring in customers fast. After 3 months of tweaking it, I got zero sales because nobody in Detroit searches on that platform. Has anyone else burned cash on a tool that just didn't work for local business?

Ugh, that hurts just reading it. I mean, I dropped like $200 on those fancy ad templates once thinking it would make my social media pop, but turns out nobody in my town even uses that style. It's super frustrating when you pour money into something that just doesn't fit your actual customers, especially when you're already working hard on the shop.

Did you figure out what actually works for your customers first @blair_taylor32 or just guess?

That $500 is rough but honestly the platform matters way less than what @blair_taylor32 said about actually knowing your local people first. I've seen shops kill it on basic squarespace just because they knew exactly where their customers hung out online.
