Finally picked between the garage sale approach and donating everything. Made a difference.
I had this pile of old clothes and random stuff taking up half my spare room for like 8 months. Couldn't decide if I wanted to sit through a garage sale weekend or just haul it all to Goodwill. Ended up picking the donation route last Saturday. Dropped off 3 big trash bags and a box of kitchen gadgets in about 20 minutes. Now the room's empty and I don't have to stare at it anymore. Anyone else wrestle with the time vs. money tradeoff when clearing stuff out?

I had the exact same struggle last year with a bunch of old electronics and cords in my basement lol. Ended up listing a few things on Facebook Marketplace for like $5 each but it took me two weeks and 4 no-shows before someone bought a router. After that I just boxed up the rest and took it to a local electronics recycling place. Took me maybe an hour total including driving and I didn't have to deal with people flaking on me. Honestly the peace of mind from just getting it gone was worth way more than the $20 I might have made.

Ugh, the no-shows are the worst. I feel that in my soul lol. I did the exact same thing with an old printer - listed it for free, had three people say they'd come get it and none of them showed. After that I just drove it to the recycling center and honestly felt so much lighter. It's like you spend all this mental energy trying to sell stuff for pocket change and then just end up annoyed and with the same box of junk in your car. The peace of mind win is real.

The no-shows are the absolute worst part. I tried selling a perfectly good modem once, spent three days messaging people, and when someone finally showed up they tried to haggle me down to $2. Took the whole box of cables and old phones to a drop off spot near me, was in and out in ten minutes. So much better than sitting around waiting for people who never come. Feels good to just clear it all out and move on.
