Wednesday's round trip to the wholesale yard saved my week

I spent half my day off driving 40 miles to pick up the right post caps because the big box store only had the ugly plastic ones. Got back and finished the gate job in 2 hours flat, which put me ahead for Friday's inspection. Then a client I installed a fence for 3 years ago called to say the neighbor's dog dug a hole under it, but the panel itself held up fine. That phone call felt better than the paycheck, honestly. Anyone else have a boring errand that turned out to be the highlight of their work week?
