TIL my printer just gave up during a 10-page job at 2 AM
I was trying to print a boarding pass for my 6 AM flight Tuesday and my old inkjet just froze halfway through page 3. It flashed some error light I'd never seen before, like a blinking red alien code. I ended up slapping it a few times, unplugging it, and then just writing down my confirmation number on a napkin. The pass came out sideways and smudged when I finally got it going again 20 minutes later. Has anyone else had a gadget totally betray them at the worst possible moment?

Printers have perfect timing for failure, don't they. My co-worker's laser jet died right as she tried to print a contract for a client standing in her office. It made this grinding noise and then just sat there blinking like it was thinking about it. She ended up having them sign a napkin too, basically. The worst part was the repair guy said a single grain of paper dust jammed the roller.

Wait, is nobody gonna talk about how that tech probably caused the jam himself by opening it up and poking around? Half the time those "repair guys" make things worse just to bill for a service call.
