I finally broke my favorite coffee mug this morning

Dropped my ceramic mug on the tile floor at 6am while making my first cup of joe and it shattered into like 15 pieces. I've had that mug for 3 years and it was the perfect size for my morning routine. Anyone else have a small everyday item fail on them and mess up your whole day?

Brutal. That mug never stood a chance.

Try using a two-part epoxy instead of regular superglue. I learned that the hard way after my favorite diner mug broke clean in half. Let the epoxy set for a full 24 hours, not just the hour the package says. Mine held up perfectly for another two years until my sister dropped it again. Just make sure the break is really clean with no dust in between the pieces.

And did you try gluing the handle back on, or was it one of those clean breaks that just wouldn't hold? I've had a few mugs I tried to superglue back together but they always felt a little off after that, like you could never trust them again. Some things just aren't meant to be fixed, I guess.

Completely feel you on this. I had this giant, chipped blue mug I got from a random thrift store, my absolute go-to for my afternoon tea. One morning I was half-asleep, knocked it off the counter, and the handle just snapped right off. It was like losing a little friend, honestly, and my whole tea routine felt off for a week. It's wild how a dumb piece of ceramic can just wreck your entire day like that.
