The library's free book scanner made me digitize 80 family photos in an hour

Honestly, I was just killing time at the downtown branch last Tuesday but that old Epson scanner near the periodicals section turned a pile of my mom's 1980s prints into files. Has anyone else found a random public amenity that completely changed how they tackle a small task they'd been avoiding?

wait, EIGHTY photos in an HOUR? that's like one every 45 seconds including the scanning and saving and flipping. my library's scanner takes like 5 minutes just to warm up. i tried digitizing my grandma's old photo box last winter and gave up after like 12 pictures because i kept messing with the resolution settings. plus those old prints always have that weird glare unless you angle them just right. honestly you might have found a unicorn machine. i'd honestly go back and scan everything you own before someone else discovers it.
