Watch your sump pump hose, mine froze Friday and I had 3 inches of water by the washer
The pump was running fine all winter, so I stopped checking that cheap plastic hose where it dumps out by the back steps. Friday night it iced up solid, the pit filled, and I woke up at 5am to water creeping across the basement floor in our house near Rochester. Anyone else got a dumb little thing they check now every cold snap before it bites them?

Man that sucks. Waking up to water on the floor at 5am is the worst. I had the same thing happen two winters back, except mine was the hose running out to the driveway and it froze right at the end where the water sits. Now I walk out and check that thing every single cold snap, takes ten seconds. Cheap hose is always the weak spot.
