Why does nobody talk about picking the slower path on purpose
My dog tore her ACL in March and I had to pick between a $4,800 surgery or 8 weeks of strict rest and rehab, and going with the rehab was the hardest easy call I've ever made because watching her limp those first 10 days almost broke me.
That first week is brutal, watching them not understand why they can't just run around like normal. My parents went through the same thing with their lab, 8 weeks of keeping him basically crated and only out for short leash walks, and it felt never-ending. You made the right call though, saving almost $5k and her legs will thank you for it.
