Just realized the laundromat on 8th has a regular who folds socks for strangers while he waits
Went to the laundromat on 8th Street last Tuesday because my machine at home quit mid cycle. An older guy named Ray was there with one small load, and while his stuff tumbled he started matching and folding socks for whoever left their basket open near him. He did my whole pile in about 15 minutes and waved off the $5 I tried to hand him. When I asked why, he said his wife did all the laundry for 40 years and he never learned, so now he practices on other people's stuff. Anyone else run into a stranger who turned a boring chore into something weirdly nice?
