Heard a cashier say something that stuck with me all week

I was at the grocery store yesterday buying a pack of batteries and the cashier, this older lady, said to the customer in front of me "you can't rush a good thing, but you can sure ruin it by trying." She was just talking about making coffee at home. It hit me because I've been stressing about a side project I started and trying to force it to be perfect fast. Made me step back and just let things happen at their own pace for a change. Anyone else have a random comment from a stranger that totally reframed something for you?

Heard that exact phrase from a random old guy at a bus stop once, thought he was trying to sell me something. Turns out he was just talking about his tomato plants, but it still stuck with me for years after. Funny how the most offhand comments from strangers can hit harder than anything your friends say.

That line about strangers hitting harder than friends... yeah. I've learned to just lean into it. When someone random drops wisdom on you, write it down on your phone right there. Don't trust your memory. I keep a notes folder called "Street Wisdom" for that exact reason. Also, don't overthink the source. An old dude at a bus stop or hardware store is usually more real than someone trying to impress you. They got nothing to prove. So next time a stranger says something that sticks, just nod and save it. You'll thank yourself later when you're stuck on something.

Tbh that's exactly it. An older dude at the hardware store told me "don't let perfect get in the way of good enough" while I was stressing over paint colors. Never forgot it, and I still repeat it to myself when I'm overthinking stuff.
