Warning: the Tuesday I flipped a coin over a $900 job and it backfired hard
Last Tuesday I had two jobs on the calendar and only enough crew for one, so I stood in my truck at 6am and actually flipped a coin to decide. The coin sent us to the smaller job, and the big one went to a guy who underbid me by $900. He finished in three days flat, posted photos, and now the homeowner is telling everyone on the neighborhood page to hire him instead. Two of his calls came straight to my phone by Friday because people got my number from her. So do you go with your gut or your wallet when both jobs are sitting there and you can't take both?
