The 6 AM wake-up call that broke my home security habit

Last Tuesday my neighbor's Ring camera caught two guys testing my back door handle at 4:30 AM while I slept through the motion alert on my own phone. I used to check the app every night before bed but let it slip after 3 years of nothing happening. That same morning I drove to Lowe's and grabbed a $25 door sensor that blasts a loud chime inside the house, not just on my phone. Has anyone else realized their security routine got lazy because nothing bad ever happened?
