Hot take: my crew of 6 works better without a morning huddle and my old boss in Cincinnati told me I was nuts
We cut 15 minutes of standing around every morning where guys mostly stared at the ground and waited for it to end. I just started texting the plan to the group chat the night before and answering questions as they come, and we've finished 3 days ahead on the last two jobs. Anyone actually seen a huddle change the day, or is it just something bosses do so they feel like managers?
Watched my buddy try the same thing on his framing crew last summer. He killed the huddle, sent texts the night before, and for about two weeks it was great. Then a guy showed up to the wrong site because he never read the text, and the whole crew lost half a day waiting on him. So the huddle thing might not be the problem, it might just come down to whether your guys actually read what you send.
