Question about using a password manager after a close call

I almost got phished last month when a fake email pretended to be my bank. It looked so real that I nearly typed in my login info before I caught it. That got me thinking about password managers, since they'd auto-fill and probably warn me about sketchy sites. Has anyone else had a similar scare that pushed them to change their habits? I'm trying to figure out if a paid manager is worth it over the free options.

Thought I was fine without one until that happened. Switched immediately after.

Dude, I swear I bricked my router once trying to fix the same thing, what a mess.

Hate to be that guy (I really do), but I think you might be mixing up what happened. The actual issue wasn't the software itself but a setting you had turned off by accident. I did the same thing, thought the update broke everything, but it was just a hidden toggle in preferences. Double check your settings menu before you blame the tool, that's where I found my fix. Probably saved me from switching to something worse.
