My uncle reused "password123" for 11 years and I finally got him to change it in 2023
He kept saying nobody would bother hacking a retired guy in Scranton until his email got hit with 47 login attempts from overseas, and now he uses a password manager I set up for him, so what finally got through to someone stubborn in your family?
What is it with stubborn family members and terrible passwords? My dad used his dog's name plus his birth year for everything, and when I tried to warn him he acted like I was speaking a foreign language. It took his Facebook getting taken over and some guy posting fake car deals to all his friends before he would even listen. Watching him call his buddies one by one to apologize was rough, but hey, at least he finally got it. Sometimes the only thing that works is a real scare, sad as that is.
