Found an old notebook full of login details from my first job

Back then, we wrote down passwords and left them in desks. Nowadays, my team uses encrypted password vaults and regular security audits. It's wild to think how careless we were with client data. Makes you appreciate how far we've come, right?

In my dorm room freshman year, I had a pink sticky note with all my passwords stuck to the monitor. We thought it was fine because who would break into a college dorm, right? Everyone did stuff like that, even writing shared logins on the kitchen fridge. One time, the cleaning staff probably saw every password we had. It's wild to remember how little we cared about digital safety. Now I use a password manager and feel paranoid if I write anything down.

Wait, you guys wrote passwords on the fridge? I used to think keeping them in a text file on my desktop was safe enough because I trusted my roommates. Reading about your cleaning staff seeing everything is a wild reality check that totally changed how I see it.

Remember thinking that was safe? I did, but now it freaks me out.

Switch to a password manager and stop writing anything down.
