Dropped $200 on a VPN subscription I never used

Signed up for a three year VPN deal back in 2021 thinking I'd use it for everything, but I forgot about it until the renewal notice hit my inbox last week. Turns out I didn't even log in once over those two years because my browser and phone already handle most of the privacy stuff. Anyone else sitting on a subscription they bought with good intentions but totally forgot about?

Two hundred bucks for something you never even logged into? That one stings a little. I've done similar stuff before, but never that big. I think the worst I ever did was sign up for a year of some cloud backup service and used it maybe twice. Three years is a long time to just let that money sit there unspent. At least now you know for next time to just skip the big deals and pay month to month if you really need it.

You know @michael669, I used to think yearly deals were smart, but this really changed my mind.

I did the math once on a gym membership I swore I'd use. Signed up for the whole year to save $15 a month, went maybe six times. Cost me something like $33 per visit by the end. The three year thing is a different level though. That's like buying a cheap used car and just leaving it in the driveway.
