Just hit 750 on my credit score and honestly didn't think it was possible

I've been working on my credit for about 2 years after some dumb mistakes in my early 20s. Last month I checked my score on Credit Karma and saw 752. I literally thought the app was glitching because I had a 580 back in 2022. The biggest thing that helped was paying down two store cards I had maxed out, one from Target and one from Best Buy. I also stopped applying for random cards every time I saw a signup bonus. My utilization went from like 80% to under 20% and that seemed to be the magic move. Has anyone else seen a big jump just from cutting down utilization?

The Target card got me too, still can't walk in that store without hearing the checkout beep.

The worst part for me was the jingle they used to play when you walked in. I still hum it sometimes without thinking and my husband gives me this look like I've lost my mind. We were there so often getting diapers and wipes that the cashiers knew us by name.
