Hot take: letting my kids use my credit cards taught them more than any lecture

I heard a mom at my kid's soccer game in Austin say she would never add her teenager as an authorized user because they'd run up her limit. I added my 16 year old with a $300 cap on my Chase card last month and talked through every charge as it hit. Has anyone else tried giving real spending power instead of just talking about credit scores?
