Spent 3 hours trying to fix a logo file that should have taken 15 minutes

Had a client send me a JPEG of their logo for a banner I was making. Told them I needed an SVG or at least a PNG with transparency. They insisted JPEG was fine. Spent 3 hours in GIMP manually tracing the outline because the white background kept showing up. Should have just said no upfront or charged extra for the time waste. Anybody else deal with clients who dont get file types?

Learned my lesson the hard way too. Now I charge for JPEG cleanup time.

Wait, they seriously thought a JPEG would work for a banner with transparency? That's such a basic design thing to get wrong, I'm honestly amazed you lasted 3 hours on that.

Oh man, that takes me back to my first freelance gig. I remember spending three hours trying to convince a client that a PNG file with a checkerboard pattern wasn't actually broken, it just meant the background was transparent. They kept asking me to "fix the gray squares" and I nearly lost it. Simple stuff like that can really test your patience, can't it?
