Caught myself running a pick with the load line twisted last Tuesday
I was lifting a 4 ton HVAC unit and saw the cable start to birdcage because I never checked the twist before hooking up. Has anybody else had a near miss from something so simple that you just overlooked?

Man that earbud comparison is spot on, it's the same exact feeling when you finally see the twist right as the cable starts screaming at you. Did that with a 3 ton chiller last fall, spent an extra 20 minutes re-rigging everything because I was in too much of a hurry to do a quick spin check. Bet you check that load line every time now too, right?

Pull the load line straight and let it spin free before you hook anything up... saves a lot of trouble down the line.

Oh totally! It's like that thing where you take an extra 30 seconds upfront to save yourself hours of headache later. Reminds me of untangling earbuds before shoving them in your pocket, or actually reading the recipe before you start cooking.
