Was reading an old trade magazine and the numbers on hairspray were wild

Found a 1988 issue of Modern Salon in a box at my mom's. It said the average woman used 14 ounces of aerosol hairspray a week back then. My current clients would laugh at that. How much product do you all find you go through now for a full set style?

Remember seeing my mom's old photos with that helmet hair, makes sense now lol. It's not just hairspray, everything from laundry soap to ketchup comes super concentrated now. We buy less but it works the same or better, companies figured out how to pack more punch into a tiny bottle. I use maybe two ounces for a full set, the new stuff is like glue compared to the old aerosol clouds. Shows how much the stuff we use every day has quietly changed.

Yeah, the "pack more punch into a tiny bottle" thing is so true. I switched to a concentrated dish soap and the little bottle lasts forever now. It's wild how much less packaging and product you actually need.

Remember my buddy who used a whole bottle of the old stuff before realizing the new kind needs just a drop?
