Tried roasting a whole chicken on my charcoal grill and it turned out way better than my oven ever did
I always thought grills were just for steaks and burgers, you know? But last Sunday I got this 4 pound bird on sale for $6 at the grocery store near my apartment in Phoenix. I set up the grill with coals on one side only, threw in some applewood chips I had sitting in the garage for like a year, and let it go indirect heat for about 90 minutes. The skin came out crispy and smoky in a way my oven just can't do, and the meat stayed super juicy without me having to baste it every 10 minutes. I honestly expected a dry mess or a flare up disaster, but it was the best chicken I've made in months. What's the one thing you grilled that surprised you most?

Oven chicken is way easier and comes out just as good if you know what you're doing.

My buddy swears by brushing the chicken with butter and garlic before baking, never looked back. Ever tried that trick with your oven method?
