Unpopular opinion: my dad's 20 minute talk about a broken lawn mower took me 8 months to actually hear
Back in 2019 my dad came over to help me fix my rider mower and it turned into a 20 minute talk about how he never fixed anything right the first time either. I nodded along and went back to ordering a $60 carburetor, which was the third one I bought that summer. It took me 8 months and about $180 in wrong parts to admit he was right, the issue was a clogged fuel line the whole time. I called him from my driveway in Topeka last March just to say he was right, and he laughed and said he'd been waiting. We ended up talking for an hour about all the stuff he broke before he learned. Anyone else have a parent drop a truth bomb during something boring like yard work?
