My brother's weird advice about talking to plants turned out to be real
He told me six months ago to try it with my sad basil plant, and I laughed in his face. I gave in after it nearly died, and started just chatting at it while I watered it, mostly just complaining about my day. The thing perked up in about two weeks and is now the biggest plant on my counter. I still feel silly doing it, but I can't argue with the results. Has anyone else had something they thought was total nonsense work for them?

Wait hold on @the_elliot, are you saying you weren't watering your plants right before? That's the real shocker here. I just assumed everyone knew the basics, but maybe I've killed more plants than I thought. This feels like a personal attack on my own sad, crispy fern in the corner. You've got me second-guessing my whole life now.
