Vent: dropped $180 on a course about growing my channel and learned less than from one free video

I make woodworking videos, nothing huge, about 2,400 subs. Back in January I paid $180 for an online course that promised to show me how to 'blow up my channel in 90 days.' Six weeks in, the whole thing was basically telling me to post more and use better thumbnails. That advice is free everywhere. The guy running it had maybe 8,000 subs himself and most of his lessons were screen recordings of him talking about his mindset. I asked for a refund on day 40 and he pointed at his no refund policy in tiny text at checkout. Since then I've gotten more growth from a 12 minute YouTube video by a guy with 400k subs than from anything in that course. Has anyone found a paid creator course that was actually worth the money, or is this whole space just people selling to other people?
