Tried using a garden sprayer for curing sealer versus a proper pump sprayer on a garage job.

The garden sprayer sputtered and left streaks, looked awful. Switched to a Graco pump sprayer halfway through, finish was night and day better. Anyone got a favorite sprayer for sealers that won't clog up?

My old Graco 390 has sprayed hundreds of gallons of sealer without a hiccup. The piston pump design just handles the material better than a cheap diaphragm. It's one of those tools that pays for itself by not ruining a job.

What kind of sealer were you running through it? I had a similar Graco pump for years and it was a tank. @ray356 is right about the piston being way better for that stuff. Diaphragm pumps just can't keep up with thicker materials without clogging or losing pressure. My old unit never left me stuck on a job halfway through. You get what you pay for with those professional pumps.

Oh man, that's a huge difference. So for your Graco 390, how often do you have to do a full teardown to clean the piston, or can you usually just flush it with solvent between jobs? I'm always worried about gumming up a nice pump.
