Overheard a guy at the supply yard say you can polish wet concrete with a trowel and a prayer.
He was dead serious, said his grandpa taught him that trick on a 40-foot driveway outside Tulsa. Has anyone else heard of this or is that just a recipe for disaster?

My cousin tried something like that on his patio in Phoenix. Used a big old trowel his dad gave him. Looked good for maybe two months. Then all these hairline cracks showed up, water got in during a monsoon, and the whole thing buckled like a dry riverbed. Took him two weekends with a jackhammer to fix it. Grandpa's tricks don't always hold up in different climates.

My uncle tried that on a 50-foot path in Ohio and the whole surface crumbled in a year.
