Dropped $85 on a Fresno magnetic broom and saved my back on a 4,000 sq ft pour
Was doing a big warehouse slab outside Fresno last Thursday and my back was wrecked from dragging a regular broom across 4,000 sq ft. My old boss swore by his magnetic broom and I finally spent the $85 on one. Cut my finish time down by almost an hour and the texture came out way more even than what I was getting before. Anybody got a tool that was worth every penny like that?
The part about the texture coming out "way more even" is the real win here, and nobody ever talks about that side of it. A regular broom leaves those overlap lines and drag marks that you only really see once the sun hits it or the owner walks it at an angle. With a magnetic broom you're pulling the head instead of pushing, so you get consistent pressure the whole way across. On 4,000 sq ft that adds up to way fewer spots you gotta touch up later. Saving an hour is nice but saving the callback is where the actual money is.
