Old office router I found in a closet taught me something about speed testing

I was digging through storage at my shop last week and found a Linksys WRT54G from like 2008, plugged it in just for fun and my transfer speeds actually matched my fiber line. Turns out my fancy AX router was fighting with neighbor interference while this old thing just chugged along on 2.4GHz - has anyone else seen older gear outperform new stuff in weird situations?

Old modem from 2010 fixed my buffering issues too.

Honestly, did you try messing with the MTU settings on the modem? I had a similar headache a few years back, and after a ton of trial and error, I found that lowering mine to 1492 fixed my constant buffering on streaming services. It was a simple change but made a huge difference for me.
