Took 3 years of weekly standing meetings to see what my boss meant

Every Monday at 9am she'd say 'we're not here to be right, we're here to figure it out.' I thought that was just corporate fluff until last week when I admitted my rental inspection schedule had a flaw that cost us a $1,200 deposit dispute. Has anyone else had a phrase click for them way later than it should have?

Damn, that hits hard. My old boss said the same thing about billable hours. Took me two years to get it.
