Said I believed in "run what you brung" until a guy in Abilene beat my old rig and I started making excuses
Went to a tractor show in Abilene back in April and watched a guy on a 9N with a bent front wheel outpull my restored 8N, and instead of tipping my hat I stood there telling everyone his class was unfair. I have said for a decade that seat time matters more than the machine you own, but the second my machine lost I went looking for a rule to hide behind. Which side do you all land on here, was I wrong to bring up the class rule, or am I right that I got a little dishonest with myself that day? Kind of want to hear from anybody who has caught themselves doing the same thing.
You said "run what you brung" for a decade and the second you lost you went hunting for a rule to hide behind. That's the whole deal right there, the excuse is the lie, not the class. If the rules really were unfair you would have said it before the hook dropped, not after.
