Am I the only one who hated composting until my yard started thriving?
I swore up and down composting was just a fad for crunchy types, but after 4 months of dumping kitchen scraps in a bin behind my garage I noticed my tomato plants doubled in size. The soil got dark and crumbly and I actually felt a little guilty for all those years of trashing banana peels. Has anyone else had their mind changed by seeing results in their own garden?

Composting is just paying extra attention to your trash.

People say that about a lot of things though, @cora518. A good compost pile actually cuts down on trash because food scraps break down instead of sitting in a landfill. It's more like turning waste into something useful instead of just tossing it.

See it as a way to cut down on waste, not obsess over it.
