Tried grinding beans for a week versus using pre-ground from the bag
I got a basic hand grinder for like $30 and used it every morning for seven days straight. The coffee from the fresh ground beans had way more of that bright, fruity taste my local roaster talks about on the bag. The pre-ground stuff from the same bag just tasted flat and kind of bitter by day three. Anyone else notice a huge drop in flavor after you break the seal on pre-ground?

Okay but "huge drop in flavor" feels like a stretch. It's coffee, not a fine wine. I used pre-ground for years and it was totally fine. That bright fruity stuff is what people say to sell you more gear. The difference is there but it's not life changing. My old drip machine with grocery store grounds makes a perfectly good cup. The whole thing is getting way too serious.

Lol I feel called out. I bought a fancy grinder last year and my wife still asks why her Folgers tastes the same. Maybe it's just me but I can't tell half the time either.
