Skipped the free YouTube course for a $12 Udemy one on Python, and I feel like I wasted my first month
Everyone in my dorm kept saying free is always better, so I spent 4 weeks bouncing between random YouTube videos and never finished a single project. I finally paid $12 for a beginner Python course on Udemy during a sale, and having one clear path through the basics got me writing my first little number guessing game in 6 days. Did anyone else learn better once they dropped the free stuff and just followed one course from start to finish?
The "one clear path through the basics" thing is real. I did the same kind of thing with web dev, watched like 15 different YouTube channels and could not build anything on my own. A cheap course is worth it just for the order of lessons, someone already figured out what to teach first so you are not jumping around. Twelve bucks for a month of your time back is a deal, don't feel bad about it.
