This week started out golden then went totally off the rails by Wednesday

Monday I was on fire. Ran 30 parts on the Mazak without a single reject. Felt like a god. Tuesday morning the coolant pump seized up on me. Took 3 hours to swap it out. Then Wednesday the spindle started making this grinding noise I never heard before. Maintenance says it needs a rebuild. Lost 2 days of production and my boss is breathing down my neck. Has anyone else had a week where everything just falls apart after a perfect start?

Man, I've been there more times than I care to count. That Monday high followed by a Wednesday crash is like a bad pattern that repeats every few months. First thing I'd say is check your coolant lines and spindle bearing temps more often. I started logging those numbers daily and caught problems way earlier. Also, keep a backup plan for the backup plan. Have a spare pump or motor on the shelf if you can swing it. It saves your hide when the boss is watching the clock.

Did I stumble into a meeting where everyone knows my schedule better than I do?

Ditch the coolant logs and check your electrical connections first because loose wires mimic scheduling chaos better than any bearing temp.
