Ran the same part on a clapped out Bridgeport and a new Haas, and the difference in finish was not even close
Had to cut 40 aluminum brackets last month, did 20 on the old Bridgeport with a manual feed and 20 on the Haas in the back. The manual ones needed a file and scotch brite on every edge, the Haas parts came off clean with just a deburr pass. Anyone else ever run a side by side like that and get surprised by how much tool pressure changes the whole deal?
That line about tool pressure changing the whole deal is the truth. Rigidity is everything on aluminum. Old worn machines just can't hold it, so you fight the finish forever.
