My solar panel install actually raised my electric bill for 2 months

Got a 6kW setup in Phoenix back in March. Contractor said I'd see savings by week 3. Instead my bill went up $40 each month because the inverter kept failing at noon. Took 4 service calls before they swapped it. Anybody else have a system that hurt more than helped at first?

That contractor pretty much told you what you wanted to hear. Most 6kW systems in Phoenix need a decent size battery to be worth it, but nobody wants to hear that. Your inverter failing at noon actually means you were saving nothing during peak rates anyway, so getting it fixed is the real win. Those two months of higher bills are just the cost of learning how your system actually works.
