Just burned $180 on a compost bin that fell apart in 3 months

I bought this fancy rotating compost tumbler back in June, thinking it would speed up my backyard setup in Austin. By September the plastic door hinge snapped clean off and now everything just leaks out the side. I could have built a simple wire bin for like $30 and it probably would have lasted way longer. Has anyone else had luck with a specific DIY compost setup that actually holds up?
