Dropped $200 on a remote inspection camera for tight flues
It paid for itself on the third job when I found a raccoon nest in a bend I couldn't have seen otherwise. Has anyone else had luck with those cheaper endoscope tools or is it better to just rent one when needed?

Buddy of mine tried the cheap $30 one from Amazon. Worked great for two weeks until it just stopped sending video to the screen. He was up on a roof in the rain trying to check a vent pipe and that thing went dark. Had to guess and poke at it with a stick instead. The next day he ordered a proper one and it's been solid for a year now. Sometimes you get what you pay for with that stuff.

Heard a similar story from a guy who bought a cheap one and @the_jake's buddy's experience was basically the same, total waste of cash.
