I finally tried a proper fish spatula after years with a regular offset

The difference in flipping a delicate Dover sole last night was huge, the thin flexible blade just slides right under. Anyone else have a basic tool that changed their game?

That's actually a fish turner, not a spatula, but it's a total game changer.

Oh man, @miller.rowan is totally right. I used a regular spatula for years and just mangled every piece of fish I tried to flip. The thin edge on a fish turner actually slides right under there. It's like the difference between a butter knife and a key.

My friend tried making salmon burgers last week and totally wrecked them with a normal spatula. I mean, she said it just tore right through and fell apart in the pan. I told her about the thin edge thing you mentioned, and she went and got one. She said it was like night and day, she finally got a whole patty onto the bun.
