The great leaf blower debate of my street

For years, I thought my neighbor Bob was just lazy for using a rake instead of a blower. His yard took him three hours every Saturday. Then last fall, his blower broke and he borrowed mine for a week. The noise dropped by about 80%, and I actually saw three different birds in his yard, which was a first. I switched back to a rake this spring, and my dog stops hiding under the bed on yard day. Anyone else have a neighbor who quietly won an argument without saying a word?

Honestly my friend's neighbor kept using one and their garden just stopped getting pollinated. Miller.rowan has a point about rakes being quieter anyway. Whole thing made me rethink using loud tools in my own yard.

Try using a rake instead, it's quieter and works fine.
