That rainy Tuesday in June at the Portland farmers market changed my whole view on organic produce
I had always bought the cheap conventional vegetables without thinking twice, but after a week of my garden getting wiped out by slugs I went to the market out of desperation. Spent $28 on a box of organic greens from a farmer named Greg who let me taste a carrot right out of the ground. The flavor difference was so huge I couldn't ignore it, and now I wonder if I've been missing out on better food for years just to save a few bucks. Has anyone else had a moment like this where a single taste test made you switch something up in your regular routine?

Omg did you ever notice how much dirtier the conventional stuff tastes once you've had the real thing? My friend Sarah had the same thing happen with eggs from a guy at the farmers market, she literally couldn't go back to grocery store eggs after that one bite.

It changes what normal means once your taste buds wake up to what food is supposed to taste like.

Is it weird that I actually feel a little betrayed by the grocery store stuff now? It's like my taste buds woke up and realized they've been eating cardboard this whole time. I'm right there with you, that first real egg ruined me for good.
