Warning: That glue down job at the Nashville Convention Center last week
I was helping a buddy with a glue down install at the Nashville Convention Center last Tuesday. The concrete slab was so cold from the AC that the adhesive took like 4 hours to tack up, not the usual 20 minutes. Has anyone else run into this with low temp slabs in a big open space?

Man, that cold slab issue is a killer. We did a 10,000 square foot office space in Chattanooga last winter and the AC was cranked so high the concrete felt like an ice rink. What saved us was using a forced air propane heater to warm up the slab in sections before we spread the glue. We'd hit a 20x20 area with the heater for about 15 minutes, then roll out the adhesive and it tacked up in the normal 20-30 minutes. Without that, we'd have been waiting forever just like you.

10,000 square feet in Chattanooga with the AC cranking like that. That's just insane to me. Who runs the AC on full blast when you're doing a glue-down job in winter? I mean, come on, the concrete is already cold enough, that's just asking for trouble. Your forced air idea is smart, but man, what a nightmare of a setup. I'd be losing my mind watching that thermostat.
