My old boss in Fresno swore you never need to seal a concrete subfloor before glue down, cost me a $600 redo
He ran a crew out there for 22 years so I figured he knew. Did a 40 yard glue down in a rental unit off Shaw Ave, and 5 months later the carpet started bubbling up near the sliding door. Pulled a corner back and the pad was soaked, water was coming right up through the slab. $600 out of my own pocket to pull it, seal it with two coats, and lay it back down. Does anyone here seal every slab no matter what, or do you still skip it on older pours that look dry?
