The $300 certification course I pushed for 2 years, turns out employers don't care

I paid $300 for a Google analytics cert back in 2021 because every job listing seemed to want it. After 40+ applications and zero callbacks, a hiring manager finally told me flat out, 'we filter for experience, not certificates.' I wish I'd spent that money on a portfolio project or even just coffee with someone in the field. Has anyone else dropped cash on a credential that ended up being useless?

Man that sucks but $300 aint exactly life ruining. Sounds like you learned a lesson about the job game without getting totally burned. Coulda been worse, coulda spent $3000 on some bootcamp.
