One line of feedback killed my 30-slide presentation habit

Last quarter my manager sat through my 30 slide deck and at the end just said, 'whats the one thing you want me to remember?' I froze, because honestly there were like 12 things. So now I build every presentation around a single sentence first, then pick 3 supporting slides max. It feels weirdly thin at first but people actually ask more questions now. Has anyone else gotten feedback that forced them to cut way back, and did it work out or did you feel like you lost important detail?

whats the one thing" hit so hard I now make decks like I pack for a flight, just the essentials and zero snacks.
