My old manager's 'fail fast' advice cost me a client in Omaha
He kept pushing me to pitch half-baked proposals to see what sticks, but when I sent a draft with outdated pricing to a logistics firm last November, they went silent for 3 weeks and I lost the account to a competitor who actually did the homework, so has anyone else had a mentor whose shortcut philosophy backfired in a real dollar amount?
Used to buy into that fail fast stuff too until it cost me a real deal. Lost a repeat customer because I rushed a quote and missed a line item, and that one mistake wiped out months of profit. Slow down and do it right the first time, because some clients don't give you a second shot.
some clients don't give you a second shot" is so true and it's everywhere honestly. I see it at restaurants, at the mechanic, anywhere you pay for something. One bad experience and you just never go back, no second chance, no matter how good they were before.
